Signs your shingle roof should be replaced or fixed

by on February 21, 2012

It may seem like yesterday that you just had your roof put on your home, and although many Michigan roofing materials are built to last for several years, (decades, even!) eventually the Michigan shingles will need to be repaired or replaced.

It is important to know the life expectancy of your Michigan roofing Michigan shingles. You may inquire with your Michigan roofing company, but you can also check the manufacturer’s warranty. You may also need to find out how rapidly that date can come if you live in areas with extreme weather. If your roof is constantly bombarded with rain, snow, hail and wind, its life expectancy may be lower than a roof that is exposed to temperate, sunny weather throughout the year.

In order to get a good idea of the condition of your shingled roof is by having a professional roof inspection at least once (twice if you can afford it) a year. The Michigan roofing inspector will be able to indicate to you areas where the roof is becoming worn.

If you would prefer to inspect your roof yourself, look for signs of aging. Shingles that are old or in need of repair will appear cracked, curled or loose. You may even find some areas where the Michigan shingles are gone. Even if the Michigan shingles are only showing the beginning signs of wear and tear, it is important to get the problem fixed. If there are problems with your Michigan shingles, your roof may be compromised, leading to more extensive – and expensive – repairs.

It cannot be stressed enough to repair the Michigan shingles on your roof as soon as they begin to age. This will help you delay the need of a complete roof replacement.
