Termites pest Control Sydney

Pesky termite pest infestations can be irritating, more so due to the amount of destruction they cause. These annoying little creatures spare nothing wooden & all they do is, eat their way through it. Exterminating termites is not the only solution. Yes! Extermination or termite control procedures do help minimize & reducing termite infestations, but it is equally important to protect your home from termites. Prevention & Termite Pest Control Sydney go hand in hand for a safe & secure termite free home.

Prevention:

Termites require a specified moisture content to breed. Once the moisture content is controlled, it naturally helps in colonization of termites as well. This holds true for most termites except Dry wood termites require very little moisture & this is absorbed from the wood they thrive in! Termite Pest Control Sydney consists of preventive measures such as:

Remove and eliminate any sources of water, even standing water.

See to it there are no leaks, downspouts & get gutters & flashing fixed to avoid dampening of wood under all circumstances

          ]]>

Do not keep firewood in your home & if you should keep it in a separate place allocated preferably over a metal stand or rack.

It is best advised to avoid wooden flooring as much as possible. You can do without it & use better options instead for flooring that are termite resistant!

Pressure treated wood for decks & fences are a better option.

Close all access points & channels that prevent entry of termites.

Metal flashing under sill plates & around docks prevent termites from digging up from the ground.

See to it that your home is dry, well ventilated & well lighted.

Coating wood with chemicals toxic to termites is not a great option, but it definitely works!

Extermination & control:

Whatever the urge, you have to disturb & destroy a termite colony just as it does during a Termite Pest Control Sydney service; trying to destroy it only disintegrates & sets it free to colonize other parts of your home. If you really want to take care of your pests’ single- handedly, it is advised that you get kits that are available over the counter. Read the instructions carefully & apply as per directions as per the site of infestation. But if the infestation is on a larger scale, it would be safer & better to leave the termination process to professional experts! A termite pest controller would:

Provide you with suitable options best suited for your home or commercial space

Conduct a termite inspection of your building to give a full report which determines the type of termite infestation- subterranean or dry wood & to what degree there is an infestation.

Based on the type of infestation, provide a complete fumigation or a localized fumigation as required.

Professional termite pest control Sydney Company can be trusted to provide you with quality service & it is important that before you hire a professional termite controller, see to it that they are certified, reputed & have a reputed clientele to vouch for their services.

Termiscan has over 40 years of providing professional pest control services Sydney especially when it comes to taking care of stubborn Australian termites & other household pests.

What Does a Termite Look Like?

More than curious kids, adults and homeowners should also ask what a termite looks like. You should ask yourself the same question. Asking what a termite looks like can help save you a lot of trouble.

What Does a Termite Look Like?

Understanding some basic facts on termite would lead us to identifying it. There are surprisingly more than 2000 species of termites all over the world. Fortunately, the U.S. only has a fraction of that number at about 41-55 species. Most other species live in tropical regions which is probably the reason why there are only a few species in America. It is believed though that cold weather does not really kill termites but only causes them to reduce their speed of activity. Nonetheless, they can still cause a lot of damage to residential areas.

Termites are actually social insects. This means that they live in colonies with a queen, king, soldiers and workers. In this sense, they are much like ants. In nature and the ecology, these insects actually play an important role. Although we may think of termites as enemies, they help in nature’s natural process of recycling. As plants and trees rot, termites help them become dust and humus.

          ]]>

Caste System

What does a termite look like? That obviously depends on what species a termite belongs to since termites from different species may have slightly different physical traits. It also depends however on what group a termite belongs to in a colony. The answer to the question, what does a termite look like can be answered by looking at a termite’s role.

The termites that reproduce are also called swarmers. Depending on the species, a swarmer may be brown, yellow brown, dark brown or grayish brown. Some may have shorter legs while others may have long ones. One distinctive feature of a swarmer however, is that it has four wings that are of the same length but are longer than the body. Unlike ants with wings, these termites do not have bent antennae and no constriction in the abdomen area. These termites are responsible for spreading the termite race.

Soldier termites look different. Just like soldier ants, soldier termites are big with large heads and crushing mandibles. They may come in a yellowish brown color. These large insects defend the colony from other insects and invaders.

What does a termite look like if it belongs to the worker group? Workers are definitely smaller than soldiers and slightly smaller than swarmers too. Most termites that we worry over are creamy white and translucent. These insects are actually blind and do not have wings but they can be the most destructive group from the human point of view. These members of the colony are primarily responsible for eating wood.

These worker termites also function in their society as food gatherers, nest builders and larvae carers and feeders. Except for the wings, they are similar to swarmers since they do not have narrow waists and they have antennae that point outward.

Grub Control And Lawn Care

Lawn care is a comprehensive subject. Regular mowing and watering is just a small part of lawn care. But if you want a lush green lawn with a beautiful garden, you should invest some extra time and effort.

Lawn care can be difficult if you are not equipped with proper knowledge. The more you learn about garden plants and landscape management, the simpler it turns out to be. Sometimes a small step can make a great difference. And sometimes ignoring this small piece of information can cost you a lot of time and money. If you are serious about your lawn, you would certainly not miss anything that can help it live beautifully.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. So, begin with preventing troubles. Apart from weeds, pest and insect control, you should keep your lawn free from grubs. Grubs can be more dangerous than pests. Usual pests attack the plants and you can see the damage instantly. But grubs are tiny larvae that feed on the roots. Roots are located beneath the soil and one cannot detect the damage until the grass starts falling off in patches.

          ]]>

Lawn grubs are larvae of beetles. Different species of beetles exist in different parts of the country. The common ones are Japanese beetles and Asiatic beetles. Then there are beetles that give eggs from May to June. They are known as June beetles and May beetles. If your location is prone to beetles, you can consider a possibility of grubs attacking your lawn and garden. If you are witnessing withered grass and plants in spite of regular watering, fertilization and aeration, it could be the grubs attacking your plants and grass from beneath the soil.

There are special insecticides or pesticides available that target lawn grubs. Chemicals like chlorpyrifos and diazinon are commonly used in such preparations. You can use them directly on the grass or as per the instructions provided by the manufacturer.

If you are not comfortable with chemical grub killers, you can try some organic products. This process mainly includes adding an organism called nematodes to the soil. You should buy the ones that are specially meant for killing lawn grubs. They are safe and totally organic. These organisms kill the grubs and then they die off naturally.

Besides grubs you should monitor your lawn for other forms of insects and pests. But note that the pesticide or insecticide used for general purpose cannot kill grubs. Make sure that you buy a product specifically meant for attacking grubs. If you have a big lawn or valuable plants in your garden, it would be prudent to consult a lawn care service provider in your vicinity before trying out any sort of chemical pesticide. Even if they seem to bring results, certain pesticides can affect the growth of grass and plants in the long run.

Invader Pest Management a Phoenix Pest Control Company that Cares

Invader Pest Management is a family owned and operated business that has worked hard to earn an excellent reputation for exceptional customer service and effective pest control while not compromising in their commitment for responsible environmental stewardship. Invader has a great love for Arizona and their customers this connection to the community is what prompted them to pursue planet friendly methods and treatments of Phoenix pest control.

Traditional pest control services have relied solely on harsh chemicals to eradicate pests in homes and commercial properties, but through research and training, Invader has learned that there are many effective ways to treat bug and rodent infestations without using harmful methodology and products. Even stubborn, invasive pests like termites and carpenter ants respond to the more eco-friendly methods used by Invader.

Invader Pest Management has developed a three tier green pest control program that can be tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual homeowner or business owner.

- The first tier is our comprehensive Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program which is the foundation upon which all our services are built on and primarily is a preventative program designed to keep the bugs from ever taking up residence in or around your home or business.

          ]]>

- The second tier chooses to make the addition of a combination of low impact products and organic compounds when treatment of pests is found to be necessary.

- The third tier is our all green program, this program is a 100% IPM program with heavy reliance on inspection, sanitation recommendations, exclusion services to reduce possible pest entry, cultural and mechanical pest control means and as a last resort we will only utilize exempt materials including mostly organic materials. This is an ideal program for families who would normally choose to do without pest control due to possible pesticide concerns for any reason, however primarily medical concerns associated with pesticides for a family member. This third tier is not for everyone, especially those who have a zero tolerance for pests, but for those who desperately need some pest control measures, and have no other choices, Invader Pest Management is one of the few companies to offer a program that will bring relief from pests with the lowest risk from pesticide usage.

Invader Pest Management has earned many accolades for its excellence in customer service and the Better Business Bureau recognizes it as an accredited business. It is a member of the Arizona Pest Professional Organization, the Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program, and the National Pest Management Association. It has earned the coveted Quality Pro certification, Quality Pro Schools and GreenPro Certifications from the National Pest Management Association. Invader Pest Management is particularly proud of the Quality Pro School certification as it helps in promoting Integrated Pest Management in the private and public school sectors, and as our children are being taught to become better stewards of our environment, they also see the schools taking sustainable action in line with the curriculum.

Is your office jammed packed with clutter? It might be a good idea to start sorting through some of that clutter and organize an office junk removal project.

The attitude of your employees depends on a lot of factors, but one of the most important aspects that impact their attitudes is cleanliness within the workplace. If the office is dirty, dusty and filled with boxes and other unused items, it may lower office morale. Hiring a qualified janitorial service to keep the office clean is a good start, but they can’t get rid of all the extra “stuff”; you will need to call in a junk removal crew to haul away the excess clutter.

Some of the most obvious items that should be considered for removal are old desks, chairs, computers and electronics that no longer work or are broken. And don’t worry about electronics going to the dump; they will more than likely recycle computers, printers, fax machines, etc. Imagine how much more space your office would have with that old Xerox machine out of the way and how much easier it will be for the janitorial service to thoroughly clean the office! Other items that can be considered for removal are old office supplies that aren’t being used. If you have files or other plastic/paper items, make sure to put those aside for recycling.

Before scheduling a pick-up day, ask all your employees to go through their desks and belongings to make sure everything is purged. Once everything is ready to go, the junk removal crew will be able to haul away the excess office clutter, leaving you and your employees with seemingly a brand new work space!

Your janitorial service comes through a couple of times a week and empties the trash, dusts, vacuums and cleans the windows, but what about the times in between? What if you have food in your trash can that is starting to smell? What if you spill coffee or soda on your desk? Is the rapid accumulation of dust causing you to sneeze and wheeze? You can’t rely on your janitorial service to do everything to keep your office area clean; some of the cleaning tasks are your responsibility. Here are some items that should be on everyone’s desk to keep up the cleanliness in between janitorial visits.

Extra trash bags. Some people barely create any trash at all, but if you have to-go coffee every morning and eat lunch at your desk, chances are your trash can fills up quickly. If the janitorial company only empties the trash a few times a week, you might want to consider taking out your own trash. Not only will emptying your trash regularly guard against any foul odors from food or coffee, but it will also keep ants and possibly rodents from lurking around your cubicle.

Disinfectant wipes. Offices can be some of the most germ-infested places and you happen to spend quite a bit of time there. Since illness is easy to spread in close quarters, you should have a stash of disinfectant wipes handy to periodically clean your phone, mouse, keyboard, desk and any other surface area that can be cleaned.

Air freshener. If your office doesn’t have windows, it might get a little stale in there every so often. Choose an air freshener that is neutral, so as not to offend anyone who might not enjoy the scent as much as you do.

Compressed air. Look down at your keyboard. If it’s a black keyboard but looks gray from all the dust, that might be an indication that it needs a good cleaning. Cans of compressed air come in handy for removing the dust and other debris that can accumulate on your keyboard.

Hiring a janitorial service is an important part of running a business. Keeping the office clean keeps up morale by creating a space that employees feel comfortable to be in, and it also keeps them in good health. But in order to keep up the environment and well-being of your employees, certain tasks should be performed on a specific schedule. Here are some tips from janitorial specialists on how to keep your office clean.

Monthly Cleaning Tasks

Your janitorial service should vacuum the entire office at least once a month. Along with this task, the janitor should also clean office furniture, wall hangings, and vents.

Weekly Cleaning Tasks

Each week the janitorial crew should disinfect telephones and keyboards. Unless you have specific rules for your office refrigerator, you can request that they clean out the fridge. If you don’t feel comfortable asking this of your janitorial company, make this a “must-do” for your employees to discourage rotting food. The desks, computers and other surfaces of the office should be dusted as well.

Daily Cleaning Tasks

Emptying the garbage needs to happen daily. Floors should be mopped or vacuumed and kitchens and restrooms should be thoroughly cleaned.

If you have any other ideas about what tasks should be performed on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, be sure to discuss those ideas with your janitorial company.

Most janitorial companies will occasionally dust the tops of your computer with a dusting feather, but that’s far from keeping your electronics properly cleaned and maintained. Janitorial services do not usually include electronics cleaning, but here are some suggestions on how to keep your computer and other electronic devices free of dust and grime.

According to janitorial experts, office electronics are often some of the dirtiest objects in an office. Not only do they collect dust quickly, but if you think of all the things you touch before touching your electronics, or how many times food or drinks are spilled on or around electronics (especially our computers), it stands to reason that these deserve a thorough cleaning every once in a while.

There are a couple of different ways you can clean your electronics, according to janitorial specialists. One is to use a microfiber cloth that is soft. These should be used to clean computer screens or any other surface that should be protected against scratching. You can also use the microfiber cloth to dust fax machines, printers, telephones and computer towers. Those surfaces, however, could probably also be cleaned with specially designed wipes to disinfect (especially the telephone) and remove any “gunk” that may be there.

Most people clean their keyboards by blowing compressed air in between the keys. These cans can be found in any office supply store, or you can ask your supply manager to order one to have at your desk. After all the crumbs and debris have been blown out by the air, use a cotton swab dipped in alcohol to clean around each key. This will not only remove grime and dust, but it will also disinfect the keyboard.

Keeping your office electronics clean is a fairly simple task, and it is made even simpler with the occasional dusting by the janitor.

Most janitorial companies offer different packages from which to choose. These packages make it easier for a company to select what tasks they want performed because not all companies are the same size, have the same features and the same needs. So what are the differences between basic janitorial services and advanced janitorial services?

If you are a small company with few employees, it would make sense to choose basic janitorial services. These services would also be ideal for a company where appearance is important, but not vital because there are no customers to make an impression upon. Basic janitorial services include vacuuming, emptying trash cans and trash bins, sweeping, dusting and cleaning restrooms. The janitor may also restock paper supplies. These tasks could be completed daily, but if you are a smaller company, basic janitorial services more than likely only need to be performed two to three times a week.

Larger companies are more in need of advanced janitorial services. When there are several employees in a bigger building, the need to keep up the location and make sure customers and clients see an unblemished workplace is more important. In addition to the basic janitorial services, advanced tasks would include mopping, waxing and buffing floors, carpet scrubbing, removing floor mats to have them cleaned, polishing, washing windows, etc. The basic janitorial services may be completed on a daily basis, while the more advanced jobs are executed once a week and in some instances, once a month (i.e. carpet scrubbing).

If you’re looking to hire a janitorial service for your company, ask other local businesses for references so you know you’re getting quality service.
